From a very early age, my parents pushed me to learn to play an instrument. Any instrument. It didn't really matter to them. They just thought it was part of a complete education. I really don't know why I chose the violin. I hated it with a passion very early on. But they wouldn't let me quit once I had chosen it. Eventually, as most violinists will probably concur, I grew to love the instrument. It's a hard one to start playing, but the rewards are amazing.
Now, years later, I can say that I have mastered it. Not that my playing is as good as I would want it to be. I think that any musician that stops improving gets stale. If I'm honest, I would say that I am far from the best violinist around. That was always the goal. But I'm just a good player with a complete grasp of my instrument. I suppose that's all that we can really demand of ourselves.
This website is my forum where I can post anything that I want about the violin, as well as music in general. I hope that you will enjoy what I choose to put here. I also hope that you will participate in the discussions. Music really can bring us all together.
